Siavash Riahi was born in 1973 in Shahrekord, Iran to a family of eight. His father was in the carpet business. He got his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemistry from Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman, Iran. As for his PhD, he graduated from Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, Iran in 2004. He is now a faculty member of the Institute of Petroleum Engineering at the University of Tehran and the Director of the Oil and Gas Group. He is among 1 percent of top scientists of the world.
